About Azher

Above: My Latest Instagram

For over 16 years, Azher has spearheaded digital & technology efforts revolving around marketing, community build, branding and promotion across dozens of big brands including GEICO, Wal-Mart, Dell, Comcast, Tyson, Abbott Labs and Mars/Wrigley. Azher originally started out as a Designer, and brings a good mix of creative thinking and usability to traditionally cut-and- dry technical approaches.

Azher joined DDB Worldwide as their SVP/Director of Digital Operations in 2011. Prior to that, he’s helped build and lead the digital offerings at The Martin Agency, Arnold Worldwide, DraftFCB, and Townsend (now a part of Epsilon).

He has led development of award- winning mobile, web, gaming, experiential and social platforms for numerous top-tier clients. His experience also includes pioneering real-time marketing optimization platforms for DeVry and Discover Card as well as e-commerce platforms for clients including Dell, Wells Fargo and AOL.

His career has spanned from strategy through deployment, design through development, and theory through application for a variety of corporate and brand presences.  This includes the obligatory facets of traditional media mixed with web, mobile, social, search and transmedia communication platforms. As a consequence of this, I thrive in situations where things might be blurry (read: the current state of affairs in advertising and marketing).

Azher is an online community enthusiast, and possesses deep knowledge and experience in building social applications such as blogs, discussion forums, wikis and online collaboration engines— applications that play a key role in today’s marketing mix.

Side Note: Azher isn’t a fan of referring to himself in the third person, but it makes for easier copying+pasting for articles or panels he’s speaking on.

Side Note 2: I’m not currently looking for any side projects but if you have questions or an idea that needs guidance, drop a line and I’d be happy to talk.
